Posted a .327 average with 20 homers and 65 runs batted in during the 2008 season. Allen led the league with 45 extra-base hits. His average was fourth-best in the American Association. He also ranked second in home runs and just outside the Top 5 in the league in runs batted in. Allen had a stellar season with Fort Worth in 2005, leading the league with 38 doubles before missing the entire 2006 season because of injury. Allen was an All-Southland Conference selection during both his junior and senior seasons at Lamar University in Beaumont. Batted .303 with six homers and 38 runs batted in as a senior. He was an all-district football and baseball player at Garland High School. |
