In 2008, his third season with the Cats, Grybash was 8-5 with a 3.18 ERA in 18 starts. He worked 119 innings, struck out exactly 100 and walked 32. His strikeouts were the fourth most in the American Association last season and his ERA ranked eighth best.

He was selected to the South All-Star team and pitched an inning in St. Paul last July.     

Grybash, a member of the 2005 and 2006 Cats’ championship teams, was originally sent to Schaumburg in October, 2006 and spent the 2007 season with the Flyers. He was 9-5 with a 3.39 ERA in 22 games with Schaumburg. In 135 1/3 innings of work, he struck out 100 and walked only 46 while holding opponents to a .238 batting average against.


He had a 12-9 record in his two seasons with the Cats from 2005-06. Grybash was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 34th round of the 2003 draft. He spent three seasons in the Brewers’ organization before joining the Cats in 2005. He has a career minor league record of 27-18.


The Cats re-acquired Grybash from Schaumburg in the Northern League on Dec. 18, 2007, in exchange for RHP Tim Vasquez.
