In his first full season with the Cats, Fryer set a single-season American Association stolen base record, swiping 50 in 60 attempts. His 50th stolen base came on Aug. 22 in El Paso. With Coastal Bend, he hit .295 with four homers and 34 runs batted in. He finished the season third in the American Association in stolen bases with 34. Fryer had two hits and was the starting center fielder for the South Division All-Star squad. He batted .313 for Coastal Bend in 2006 while playing in 91 games for the Aviators. He also finished in the Top 5 in the league in stolen bases that season. Fryer was born and still resides in Ventura, Calif. |
