In his first season as manager of the Fort Worth Cats, Chad Tredaway led the team to a first-place finish in both halves and tied eventual-champion Sioux Falls for the most wins in the league with 60. Although the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, the team came within two wins of it's fourth straight championship series appearance. Prior to last season, Tredaway, 36, last managed in 2004 with the Edinburg Roadrunners in the Central Baseball League. He guided the Roadrunners to championships in 2001 and 2004. Edinburg made the playoffs in all four years of Tredaway’s tenure. He was the Central League’s Manager of the Year four times from 2001-04. In 2001, Baseball America selected Tredaway as independent baseball’s top manager after his club posted a 64-32 record. In 2004, the Roadrunners finished with a 68-27 record en route to the Central League title. From 2006-2007, Tredaway served as the director of baseball operations for the Coastal Bend Aviators in the American Association while at the same time running the family business. |
